“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” -- Dr. Seuss

So what is random info? Pretty much it's just stuff I think is cool and answers to questions you might have while working on a creative project and random trivia and so on.

Info is coming on topics like what is a static versus dynamic website, what's the difference in CMYK and RGB, why does my mock-up have a foreign language on it, and much more.

In the meantime, some parting trivia: 75% of the human brain consists of water. That's roughly proportional to a banana.

PRICING

Ah, pricing. A fun topic! But it's an important one so it's coming first...

What's a website gonna cost me?

Good question! But unfortunately, until I know more, I can't answer it. It's like asking what a new car costs... there's a new car in India that you can pick up (probably literally) for $2,467 USD. Or there's the Bugatti Veyron - billed as the most expensive car in the world - that will set you back over a mil. Yep, over one million dollars for a car. Way over a million, in fact.

How much does it cost to build a new house? Same answer... it depends on what you want. Do you want a warm, dry place to sleep or do you want a palatial mansion with a swimming pool, screening room, home gym, and maybe even a bowling lane or two? Depending on your requirements, the cost changes significantly.

On a smaller scale, my favorite shoes last summer were a $2.99 pair of flip flops from Target. My best friend in NYC lived in her $400 Manolos. You get the point... it all depends on what you want.

And it's the same with a website. The cost depends on what you want.

Call or email me... after nailing down what you want, I'll give you a written proposal outlining what it's gonna cost you.

The short answer: Sweet! That's a great deal... go for it!

The longer answer: Nope. I'd love to, but a girl's gotta eat! Seriously, I've invested time and money in learning how to do what I do and making sure I have the right tools... and I just can't go that low. All my websites are custom designed based on your requirements and delivered on time. I have experience with information architecture and creating good user experiences. I optimize images and graphics to ensure they load quickly. I validate my code and test across multiple browsers on both PCs and Macs. This is my full-time job and I'm continually staying abreast of industry changes and new technology.

Try this... head down to your favorite restaurant, pick an entree off the menu, and tell the waiter that your nephew can make that same dish at home for a fraction of the price and ask if they'll match it. I'm pretty sure they'll say no. And while your nephew's homemade dish may be pretty good, you picked the restaurant because they offer something your nephew doesn't and that's what you're paying for.

My rates are very reasonable; but, if you can really get what you want for a couple hundred bucks, go for it - it's a phenomenal deal!
